In 2008 was chosen as the school for Ö÷²¥´óÐã Radio Scotland's Soundtown project. The Soundtown concept was each year a school would be choosen - previous years include and and the aim was for Ö÷²¥´óÐã Scotland to share resources and expertise with pupils and vice versa. At the time I took some photographs of the launch day which you can see here.

When you consider Gamu's journey from here I am amazed that I am the first to comment. Ö÷²¥´óÐã Scotland were the first to not of Gamu Nhengu and should be respected for that.

I first became aware of Gamu Nhengu prior to her Xfactor initial audition via Ö÷²¥´óÐã Scotland 2009 Singing examples shown at youtube,I thought she would go on to achieve much as a truly good young talent, I am now, however, slightly saddened by her Xfactor experiences which have taken this young lady through a rollercoaster of hopes and emotions amongst a variety of fame wannabe's, most of which should not even be considered on the same level as Gamu, who has shown some great singing diversity, vocal range, perfection and versatility.

No wonder there is such outrage online at Gamu not geting through to the Xfactor finalists, when many thought she was the potential winner from the outset. I hope in some way that Ö÷²¥´óÐã Scotland and/or Gamu's former School or current college can assist this Brilliant young Talent with direction?

young Progressive Talents like Gamu are few and far between and should not be lost via a One Hit Wonder Over Night Success Operation such as Xfactor that preys on the Aspirations of the young and leaves many very good young talents dis-heartened and with no further direction.

ParentofTalents, many thanks for your comments, having heard the news this morning of Gamu and her family facing deportation, we wish her all the best for the future and hope we hear from her again.

This young Lady show the Talent Scotland has from a Diverse Community. this Family has given alot into the community as the mother a typical Hardworking african Lady working hard in the Hospitals. The People need to support her. Its so unfair what the family must be going through at this particular time. I suggest everyone must them.

I am amazed at Gamu's talent. She needs no coaching or changing in any way. I have read that there was an error in a claim for tax credits which has caused the visa problem. However, if us tax payers are responsible for deportations, why not deport the politicians who spent our taxes on their second homes and duck ponds? They are not nearly as entertaining as Gamu!
