Rampage at the Golden Joysticks Awards.
So Friday was the biggest event in the gaming calendar. The 27th annual Golden where the great and the good (bunch of geeks like me and Mike), sit down for a slap up meal and clap politely when a game wins!!
Everyone from the gaming world was in a massive banqueting suite in the Hilton Hotel Park Lane London, and it was hosted by comedian Shaun Lock who was very funny and did a great job. This award ceremony really is a celebration of the games you've been playing for the past year because the awards are voted for by the general public not some stuffy magazine reviewer.
Over a million votes cast made this the biggest voter spread yet in its 27 year history.
We the Rampage crew were privileged to have an award named after us as DJ's and asked if we would like to present the best soundtrack award. So of course you know we had to reprsent on stage.
This year the winner was world tour and I must say it does have a banging soundtrack. The big surprise was the bi Ultimate game of the year going to , gotta admit I thought had it on the bag, (I was addicted to that game). That said, Fallout 3 is a massive game, so congrats to them for picking up the big heavyweight of the night.
After the ceremony, we then moved to another hall in the Hilton hotel to give away a Volkswagen Golf G.T.I (Yep your heard right I did just say that, and no we couldn't fix the competition - not for the want of trying though. Only kidding.).
We then DJed and tour it down at the after party with the world famous DJ Shadow, and from the DJ box watched everyone get just a little tipsy and shake a leg on the dancefloor. Gotta say good fun was had by all, roll on next year!
