I鈥檓 one of 主播大秀 Sport鈥檚 all-rounders. Over the course of a year you might hear me commentating from Centre Court at Wimbledon, the River Thames on Boat Race day or Tower Bridge on London Marathon Sunday.
My day job though is rugby union. I switched codes - from radio to television - in 2001 to help fill the gap left by Bill McLaren and this will be the seventh year I鈥檝e talked my way through the Six Nations for 主播大秀 Sport.
I鈥檒l spend the majority of the tournament with my head in the 主播大秀 scrum, but when I come up for air I鈥檒l look to spend time with the guitar I鈥檓 learning to play, a large film collection and Erin and Rosie - my two young daughters.

Hi Nick
I was just wondering if I could ask you a question. I'm a massive fan of both Grandstand and Five Live. As obviously 主播大秀 TV do not currently hold the rights for the Rugby World Cup will you be part of the Five Live commentary team?
I'm hoping so because whilst of course Five Live has an excellent commentary team with the best rugby commentator on any medium Ian Robertson backed up by fine talents such as Alistair Hignell, Iain Carter and Alistair Eykyn I love to hear you back on Five Live commentating on the wireless making the team unbeatable.

Thanks for your kind message, David. The World Cup still seems a long way away on this weekend of all weekends, but you won't be surprised to hear the people in charge of Five Live already have their plans in place for wireless coverage from France in the Autumn. Each team will have a main commentator following them around. In 2003 I enjoyed a couple of months schlepping around Australia with Ireland, this time round I'll be with Wales. After the events of this week, I wonder if the likes of Gareth Thomas and Gavin Henson will be there as well. It'll also be interesting to see how hard the 主播大秀 work to try and get the World Cup back on television. I think ITV's contract ends after the French tournament and I know one or two of the "suits" at TV Centre are keen to get it back. Anyway, enough about the World Cup...I've got one or two more pressing matters to think about, like what time to book my train to Cardiff!

Yes the world cup is a long way away and we have an excellent 6 Nations to enjoy for the next 6 weekends.
I'm still looking forward to the world cup on Five Live and very pleased you will be part of the team.
I do hope though that 主播大秀 TV can win back the rights for the world cup. I think the fact that the 主播大秀 now show the IRB 7's series could be an interesting point.
