So that makes 2 million pounds on branding in 6 months. I know it only happens every few years but it just goes to show that the 主播大秀 does have money to burn.
The Guardian story is very funny - I loved it. We all need to give ourselves a 'good upper cut' (metaphorically speaking) and 'get real' from time to time. Loved it!
Gotta love the Simon Jenkins article; almost totally incoherent. This quote: "Experts are like rabbits. They race for the spotlight when publicity beckons and head for the hills when anything might be pinned on them" is especally good.
I've never seen rabbits race for publicity...
I heard the item on light pollution this morning and would like to add my concern regarding warning lights on wind turbines. I have a property in Brittany where there are several community windfarms. Because of the danger to aviation each turbine has a strobe-type light. The night sky is destroyed by these flashing lights as ones eye is drawn to them and they can be seen from a great distance. This is not yet mandatory in the UK, but is this just a matter of time? New installations planned for south Wales will be in upland areas and 600+ feet tall! I am not a pilot but ask how, especially in bad weather, these obsticles can be avoided especially by low flying craft such as emergency search and ambulance services?
