Romney triumphs

Justin Webb | 02:29 UK time, Wednesday, 16 January 2008

At last he has .

His supporters knew it from early on - it's a great day for him and, he says, a victory for optimism. But surely it is a victory for chaos as well! At least in the Republican party - we go on to South Carolina and Florida having had a clear winner in every contest so far - but not the SAME winner.

To be tired of American politics at the moment is to be tired of life...

Mitt Romney is the most intelligent and educated person to run for President since Theodore Roosevelt nearly a hundred years ago. Washington is broken and we need his business and management genius to fix it. A fine and honest family man with years of community service, a successful manager and optimist with a proven record, Romney is the answer to the talking head Senators from Washington. GO MITT!

As a Democrat, I am extremely happy he won, tonight. I think he will provide us with the easiest road to the White House. His incessant pandering will leave him very open to the same type of "flip-flopping" charges that eviscerated John Kerry in 2004.

I completely agree with your last statement... and yet some of my fellow students are so apathetic!

I think the party dealignment that's been happening over the last few decades is going to cause an overhaul in the parties soon--just look at how split the republican party is turning out to be! and they're the party that always votes together, no matter what they think.

I'm a simple a friend from Peru watching closely the campain Mr. Romney is working day after day.
You Americans should be proud of a man of convictions a true value rarely seen in the new globalized world.
He is one step ahead planning what is better for all Americans;working as if today is the last chance to do it the right way.Get all the best of Democrats and Republicans and you will see just one person that gets 99% them all.

Romney was already the front-runner. He had the most delegates and votes going into Michigan and he won Wyoming. The worst he has placed is second. No other candidate can say that. He is going to take Nevada easily. He won Michigan because no other candidate has any proven record on the economy. Romney will will the nomination as being the best candidate for immigration, the economy, and values.
