It's Tuesday and it has now become customary for me to offer you wonderful people some great free tunes. This week's freebies come from this week's guests, starting with........

are a London four-piece and their bandcamp carries the tag 'melodramatic popular song'. It's hard to argue with that really, think Psychedelic Furs, Jesus And Mary Chain, and Interpol. There's a lot of bands who have mined that particular seam but these boys do it genuinely and without sounding derivative. I wouldn't even be surprised if they've never actually listened to any of those bands. You'll be lucky to get your hands on their debut EP as it's run of 100 has been pretty much cleaned out of Rough Trade. Not to worry too much as they're giving away two tracks from the EP completely free.

Bear Cavalry will tell you lies, lies like theyÌýare "made fromÌýcandyfloss" and that theyÌý"live in a shed."ÌýOne thing that is true, is that they love Tom Robinson. How do I know that? Because they put this on their myspace page....

Trying to describe what Bear Cavalry sound like is difficult, all at once they're a bit wonky, a bit tropical, a bit post-something, and always heartfelt. Oh and there's a trumpet in there sometimes. This is what Tom Robinson had to say about their track 'Will Smith Solves The Rubik's Cube'.

"And there, Ladies and Gentlemen, you have all the reasons why I love doing this program, all neatly encapsulated into one. It's just bursting out with freshness and ideas and innovation and energy and it's not the most expensive recording you're going to hear on 6 music in the course of the next 7 days but, who cares?
