Nick Pini, Tom Robinson, Lou Vainglorious

Tonight's show starts where we left off last week - with 's wonderful and faintly ludicrous electro homage to... himself. Which once again had us grooving around the studio in party mood from the get-go.

So many great music recommendations come through from the Ö÷²¥´óÐã's network of regional new music shows that each week we play Introducing Roulette to pick one at random. The virtual ball landed on a show once known as - but now prosaically rebranded as (boo hiss). Rob Fanner sent us a song called I Feel So Slightly Strange - by the Telford power trio . Also endorsed by Huw Stephens and , they played the Ö÷²¥´óÐã Introducing Stage at Reading & Leeds last year: see video of that performance here.

Our guests were , a band we first heard in the very earliest days of this show (25 NovemberÌý 2007 to be precise) and whose progress we've been following ever since. Frontman Lou Vainglorious and bassist Nick Pini fessed up that back then the band didn't actually exist at the time - they's just played all the parts themselves on that early demo . 2010 turned out to be a landmark year forHoodlums with a sudden surge both in fan numbers and musical selfconfidence for Lou and Nick. Their new single is one of the results and released on Independence Day - July 4th.

DJ Target's 100% Ö÷²¥´óÐãgrown Download this week was an acoustic production from the upcoming London songwriter - who's been playing piano and guitar singe age four. Her superb vocals, canny lyrics and mastery of jazz guitar voicings made this a welcome breath of fesh air.Ìý We played a new song called The Beast by next week's guests, the Alsager duo , featuring Mariachi-style brass. We also heard from a new and punchy Colchester trio with the confusingly similar name (without a "the"). But which is better? There's only one way to find out.

Finally tonight we featured two exclusive recordings from Bristol producer 's first live tour dates in Europe earlier this year. One of them is his forthcoming single which - Mr Snook assures us - isÌý Bristolese for "that belongs to you". Sessions aside, you can always hear any of the tracks featured in the show on the artist' own web pages by clicking through links in these tracklistings on our blog. Hope you enjoy them as much as we did...
