TRACKLISTING. MONDAY 20/06/2011

Post categories:

Tom Robinson Tom Robinson | 01:00 UK time, Monday, 20 June 2011

On our last show before the Glastonbury weekend we showcased some of our favourite acts who'll be appearing on the Ö÷²¥´óÐã Introducing Stage this coming Friday, Saturday and Sunday. We opened with a stonker, too - Cornwall songwriter with his piano-driven Iggy-inspired power trio on their song American Lover. For the full list of Introducing artists who are appearing there together with stage times, see the main Introducing website.

Our session and interview guests were Sheffield’s . Low by name perhaps but focussed, upbeat and positive in person. The Greenwood brothers were a delight to meet and produced a haunting performance featuring just their trademark lone guitar and single voice plus a good helping of atmospheric reverb.

World Music influences could be heard in the Tasmanian trio and London's splendid who'll be playing Glasto - not on the Introducing stage - but down in Shangri-La at on the Friday night. And if you're going to be at the festival yourself, don't miss last week's guests , who will be gracing the Introducing stage at 1.30pm on Saturday afternoon.

And producer Jax Coombes returned from holiday this week, having caught up with Austria's t at last weekend in Barcelona. To hear them chatting made those of us who'd stayed home in the grey and rainy UK deeply jealous at having missed this eventful and sun-soaked festival.

We have no shows next weekend during 6 Music's special live-from-Glstonbury schedule, but we'll be back in the small hours of Sunday July 3rd with a Glsto Special of our own featuring live tracks and interviews from the Ö÷²¥´óÐã Introducing Stage. If you happen to be going to the festival yourself, you can follow me on Twitter for up to date news from the Introducing stage - and by all means drop by and say hello if you want to.
