Tom Robinson Tom Robinson | 01:00 UK time, Sunday, 5 June 2011

A wide mix of genres for your listening this morning. slid us nicely into the start of the show - followed by the squeakyclean sound of who've just finished the first musical tour of the UK's launderettes on record. Special mentions for and while Tasha House from Ö÷²¥´óÐã Introducing In Northampton recommended local outfit with their 80’s infused dance track If I Found Love.

We revisited North Wales with and her gently crafted single All These Things before heading out West to catch up with our old friends and a quick incidental plug for their fine compilation . Back in Cardiff, Bethan brought us - a band so brand new they've yet to play their debut gig. Despite the unseasonable name, their captivatingly ethereal track Icebergs could add sparkle to the sunniest of summer days.

From Alsager, pronounced [awl - seyj - er], we were joined in the studio by Sam and Tony from . As distinct from the similarly-named but unrelated Essex trio we played last week. Blurry eyed from celebrating Sam’s 18th Birthday they told us about their upcoming appearance at the semifinals for the Surface Festival in Birmingham.

From Tom's NowPlaying@6Music show, guest contributor from supplied us with not one but two fantastic suggestions: an extract from ’s divine track Yes followed by - our fourth Welsh artist featured in this morning's show. Oriole is a sweet treat of quirky guitar pop such as you’d expect to hear if the had a full band.

And our session tracks came from Whitby's , accompanied by his brother Tom on trumpet and bass clarinet. Their extraordinary session was recorded and passed to us by the excellent Bob Fischer at Ö÷²¥´óÐã Tees.

But actually every tune in this morning’s show is a gem of one kind or another - otherwise we would't be playing them. You can listen to every track in full on the artists' own websites via the links below - or for the next 7 days hear the entire show in full on the Ö÷²¥´óÐã iPlayer.
