This Thursday - Bonfire Night - is when National Theatre Wales officially launches its first year programme. The English-language company has ambitions plans to provide drama for the whole of the country and new productions month by month.

Personally I can't wait to hear what Artistic Director, John McGrath has to say this week. Although NTW has only been in the planning stage so far, its website is always lively and interesting and the launch on Thursday will be the subject of live chat between 12.30 and 2pm.

It really shows a new approach to drama in Wales as there's already a huge online community at the National Theatre Wales Community website.

The whole issue of a national theatre company has been rumbling on for so many years now that I can hardly believe that Wales has finally got one. Actually, I should remind myself - and all of us - that Wales now has two as the Welsh language company has been in existence for a couple of years now. For English-language theatre goers, it's watch this space on Thursday.

Incidentally, I'm doing a public question and answer session with John McGrath at Wales Millennium Centre (on the Glanfa Stage) on Wednesday 25 November. Do come along if you want to quiz the man behind the new company. In the meantime, have a look at the website at .
