Dylan Thomas' Laugharne
As we mentioned yesterday, the fourth is taking place over the next couple of days. But it's almost impossible to mention the town without making some reference to one of its most famous literary icons, Dylan Thomas.
On his first visit in 1934 the poet called Laugharne "the strangest town in Wales". Yet it was the start of a lasting love.
Laugharne was the place in which his relationship with Caitlin blossomed, and in 1949 the couple moved into the Boathouse after it was bought for the poet by one of his benefactors, Margaret Taylor.
In what is likely to be one of the highlights of this year's Laugharne Weekend, Fionn Regan is set to perform an acoustic set in the Boathouse (and also at the Congregational Church).
Laugharne was also to become Dylan's final resting place after his body was flown back from New York after his death in 1953. Caitlin was buried in the same plot in St Martin's Church following her death in 1994.
