Bill and the bank holiday

Today's weather is more like Autumn than Summer thanks to the remnants
of Hurricane Bill bringing plenty of cloud, rain and gusty wind.
The strongest winds in the south and west of Wales up to force 7 on some coasts and hills with a gust of 48 mph recorded on Mumbles Head and 63 mph recorded at Dyffryn Mymbyr in Snowdonia.
This isn't exceptional by any means but not what you'd expect in August and no fun if you're on holiday.
Bill is no longer a hurricane but a deep area of low pressure with a central pressure of 992mb.
The centre of the low will move north east across Scotland this afternoon and will continue to weaken. Moving away into the Norwegian Sea tonight with a ridge of high pressure pushing into Ireland. 
The wind and rain should ease off for Wales this afternoon and tonight many places will become dry with light winds.
Thursday - A much calmer and drier day. A little sunshine but the wind will pick-up again during the afternoon with more light rain in the afternoon and evening.
Friday - A windy day with a mixture of sunny intervals and blustery showers.
And now for the Bank Holiday weekend...
Saturday - Doesn't look too bad. Less windy with the odd shower but otherwise dry, with some sunshine.
Sunday - Will be more unsettled and windier with some rain, especially in the north and west.
Bank Holiday Monday - There's a possibility that Monday may turn out fine and warm, which would be a bonus.
Mind you, given the changeable nature of the weather pattern, things could change!
