Caia Park Environmental GroupThe are finalists in an environmental award to win £10,000 to help further their work.

Their projects include adopting more than one mile of the River Gwenfro - which runs through the estate - to keep it litter free and in good shape and they run a community allotment as well as working with the Wrexham estate's school children on environmental schemes such as tree planting and litter picks.

Plus, they run a free bike scheme, taking in unwanted bikes, cleaning them up, ensuring they are safe before giving them out to the community.

Today, Ö÷²¥´óÐã News gives itself over to high school pupils around the country who have been researching, interviewing, filming, writing and reading the news for [

And include ; , Rhuddlan; , Mold; and , Wrexham.

As well as producing and then broadcasting their stories and bulletins on their own websites, some of the 'news' is used by Ö÷²¥´óÐã News.

And among those are a on Wrexham's new rugby team, and Rhyl High School pupils feature the story of fellow student - courtesy of her mum.

The 13-year-old's story inspired fellow Year 9 pupils to base their news package on Rebecca's experience and the issue of organ donation.

Alison Goldsworthy from the took part in the documentary, which will be shown on the throughout the day, and was interviewed by the young reporters.

The makings of a horror movie

A film crew of people from around north Wales and beyond is preparing to move their cast to a dramatic location on a remote and isolated Scottish island to start shooting their homage to cult horror films of the 70s.

The cast and crew has largely come together because of their shared interest in film-making as well as using social media website to spread the word.

The story, Wraith Island, was conceived and written by director Marc Brimfield who approached his friend, producer Tim Cowell, with the idea following their first collaboration on a TV pilot production called , filmed in Wrexham.

Says Tim from Wrexham: "The project quickly snowballed into a multi-talented media crew and has gained a lot of interest in the north Wales area."

The premise of the story:
Six people go on a weekend break on an abandoned island that holds a dark secret. It is home to a or spirit of a vengeful pirate named Captain Blackthorn who slaughters anyone who ventures on to the island to keep safe his hidden treasure.

Dragon tower artistic impression What do you think of the bold plans to create our very own - a 25m (82ft) , visitor centre and viewing gallery on the Welsh border at Chirk?

It quickly found 200+ fans among online voters at the after Wrexham businessman Simon Wingett announced his vision, branding the sculpture the "eighth wonder of Wales".

We've already six of the Seven Wonders of Wales in north east Wales as came to explore on St David's Day.
