A child's life

I tend to go into the same shop each morning and cast my eye over all the newspaper headlines before taking my pick. One jumped out today. says the front-page of the Daily Telegraph. It’s referring to the paper has received from a number of academics and children's experts.
They are talking about life in Britain, but what about the rest of the world I thought with an eye on today's programme? It seems Priya (who was the first in today) was having similar thoughts.
There's also from Save the Children today which makes for depressing reading. It claims at least 43 million children around the world are unable to go to primary school because of armed conflicts. Clearly the two stories refer to children experiencing quite different pressures, but they sparked a curiosity in all of us today to hear what exactly 'modern life' is like for children in different parts of the world.
So we are going interested to hear from parents and children who would like to share their experiences of childhood. What pressures exist? Is there more pressure than ? And is pressure necessarily a problem? Perhaps it prepares children well for adulthood?

One pressure that certainly exists in Moscow today – and this seems to be affecting people of all ages – is getting to tonight’s Madonna gig. She’s had to shift the show to a bigger venue to deal with the enormous demand for tickets. This despite the Russian Orthodox Church telling its followers to because of Madonna’s during the show. To give you an idea, while most artists would be glad of a crowd of 7000, that’s how many are estimated to be keeping an eye on things.
