InterConnected is our opportunity for writers to submit original short-form scripts, between 5-10 minutes in length whose 2-4 characters now find themselves in isolation, but connecting via video conferencing.
The characters may be friends, lovers, neighbours, colleagues, family or strangers. But they’re all alone together and using modern technology to stay connected.
We asked you for stories that take place throughout and via a conference call. Stories that show a moment of human interaction in an otherwise socially distanced world. We wanted scripts that are compelling and hook us in. Ideas that have warmth and spirit, that astonish, amuse or enlighten us. Stories that are set now or in the near future.
Four of the best will be produced with professional actors and released on 主播大秀 platforms. The selected writers will each receive £300 for their script.
Submissions for InterConnected closed on Monday 30th March at 1pm.
We received 6803 scripts in total, a record number for any of our opportunities. What an incredible feat of creativity! Thank you to everyone who applied and hopefully you found it a rewarding experience.
Because of the volume of submissions there is a lot of reading for us to get through and we have had to push back our original timeline to publish the successful stories during April. Please bear with us and we'll get back to everyone who applied as soon as we can. We have a team of freelance readers and we are asking as many as possible to get involved.
Once the final scripts have been selected we will also publish an update on our blog with advice and pointers for writers who were unsuccessful on this occasion.
*UPDATE 8th April* We have now read all 6803 scripts that were submitted (thanks to a heroic effort from our freelance readers). Around 600 scripts went through to the 2nd round and we are now finalising c. 60 which will go through to the 3rd round.
