Few orchestras know Berlioz鈥檚 Symphonie fantastique better than the Orchestre de Paris 鈥� Philharmonie, which performed the work at its very first concert in 1967 and has done so at every significant milestone in its history ever since. Here France鈥檚 most illustrious orchestra visits the Proms with its renowned Chief Conductor Klaus M盲kel盲 for a mouth-watering programme that indulges all the beauty, delicacy and emotion of French music while marking another of the most thrilling scores ever to have come out of Paris: Stravinsky鈥檚 tuneful and mischievous puppet-show ballet, Petrushka.
