Lemsford is a hidden gem in the heart of the South East of England just a mile from the A1M and its thunderous traffic.

Despite its proximity to modern settlements, the Lemsford nature reserve is packed with wildlife.

Waterways are a great place to see wildlife from a very different perspective. Why not get out on the water to watch wildlife?

Getting there:	Lemsford is close to Welwyn Garden City. The entrance to the Lemsford reserve is on the west of the roundabout linking the B197 with the road to Lemsford village, and junction 5 of the A1M. No access from the motorway. Bus service to nearby Lemsford Village (five minutes walk to reserve). Nearest train station - Welwyn Garden city (25 minutes walk to reserve).
Opening times:	Access is by permit only - turn up and ask for the key (advisable to ring in advance). Contact Herts Wildlife Trust for details - 01727 858901. Daylight hours.
