nation votes for Greyfriars Tower
Restoration
results from second programme revealed
Speaking
from the Tower of London, Griff Rhys Jones revealed last night (Friday
15 August) that the nation had chosen Greyfriars Tower
in King's Lynn, Norfolk, to be the second building to go through
to the final of the Ö÷²¥´óÐã TWO series - Restoration.
Last
Tuesday (12 August), in the second programme of the ten-part series,
Griff called on viewers to choose between Greyfriars Tower and two
other buildings - Coalhouse Fort in Thurrock and Moulton Windmill
in Moulton.

Greyfriars
Tower is a beautiful 14th century building and the oldest contender
in the series.
It
is the most substantial remnant of the four friaries that existed
in King's Lynn and the best surviving Franciscan tower in the country.
Friday's
result means that Greyfriars Tower will now become one of ten buildings
to be featured in the live final at the Tower of London in mid-September.
Here
a nationwide vote will decide which building should be given a new
lease of life with money raised throughout the course of the series.
In
Friday's programme three more buildings were featured for viewers
to choose between – Mavisbank in Edinburgh; the Lino Works
in Kirkcaldy and the Britannia Music Hall in Glasgow.
Next
Tuesday's episode of Restoration (19 August) will reveal which of
these will become the third building to go through to the final.

Restoration
is produced by Endemol UK Productions for Ö÷²¥´óÐã Scotland and currently
transmits on Ö÷²¥´óÐã TWO on Tuesdays and Fridays at 9.00pm.

voting lines are open for three days for each programme from 2.00am
on the day prior to transmission until midnight on the day after.
