Fame Academy - James Fox is expelled

James Fox from Cardiff is the ninth student to be expelled from Fame Academy.

Cat Deeley and Patrick Kielty introduced performances from the five students live on Ö÷²¥´óÐã ONE before inviting viewers to vote for their favourites.

Alex and Alistair were saved by the viewers' vote.

With a tough choice in front of them, the judges voted for Carolynne with a split vote and Richard Park having to make the deciding vote.

The final choice was left to the remaining students who gave the vote unanimously to Peter.

Expelled so far:

The four surviving students return to the Academy and will all sing live again on Saturday 27 September, Ö÷²¥´óÐã ONE at 6.30pm.

The results show will follow at the end of which another student will have to leave.

Fame Academy celebrity fans, Jonathan Ross and Ricky Gervais, came along to watch the Ö÷²¥´óÐã ONE show and appear on the Ö÷²¥´óÐã THREE show on Saturday (20 September).

When speaking to Claudia Winkleman on Fame Academy on THREE Robin Gibb, Ricky Gervais and Jonathan Ross gave their insights on the students' performances.

On Alistair

Jonathan Ross: "Definitely has potential, could be a star. I'd like to see his personality come out a bit more like Peter and Alex… But a bit karaoke for my tastes."

Robin Gibb: "Has got a good voice."

Ricky Gervais: "I got a song and dance on Fame Academy!" (after seeing a recording of Alistair teaching that dance to the other students)

On Carolynne

Jonathan Ross: "Ricky said she looks like a pub landlady."

Robin Gibb: "Not her best performance. I did not really like the song."

On Peter

Jonathan Ross: "Has got a career already – more so than any other Fame Academy contestant."

Ricky Gervais: "An oddity. Something you would pay a shilling to see in a tent 100 years ago."

Robin Gibb: "Peter needs a band… to be the front man."

On Alex

Ricky Gervais: "The real thing."

Jonathan Ross: "Distinctive. You can take her seriously and imagine buying her album."

Robin Gibb: "Has always had a style and will always shine through. Like John Lennon and Rod Stewart."

Robin, Jonathan and Ricky were all asked who they would vote for if they had just one vote.

They unanimously voted that Alex would be the Fame Academy student who they would spend their phone call on this week.
