Beckham, Beaker and BAMZOOKi - only on CÖ÷²¥´óÐã this Winter

CÖ÷²¥´óÐã and CBeebies unveil the highlights of the Winter 2004 schedule

Soccer star David Beckham and drama queen Tracy Beaker head a star cast on CÖ÷²¥´óÐã this Winter, with a strong line-up of new drama, entertainment and news for all young terrestrial and digital viewers.

CÖ÷²¥´óÐã has exclusive access to the England football captain for Beckham's Hotshots, a new series on The CÖ÷²¥´óÐã Channel this winter.

The show makes a dream come true for several lucky CÖ÷²¥´óÐã viewers who win the chance to train with their hero at his new club in Spain.

Thomas Sangster stars in Feather BoyThomas Sangster – currently on the big screens in Love Actually – stars in the moving adaptation of Nicky Singer's debut novel Feather Boy.

The drama is a mystical journey in which young protagonist Robert befriends an elderly woman (Sheila Hancock) who helps him discover the gift of self-belief.

Award-winning Tracy Beaker is back with a new series and a special feature-length episode, The Movie of Me, part of the Ö÷²¥´óÐã-wide Taking Care season, addressing the issues of children living in care.

In this one-off special starring Dani Harmer, Tracy's claim that her mother is a glamorous Hollywood actress is put to the test when her real mum rings the bell to the care home (aka 'Dumping Ground'). Tracy wonders if her dream of being reunited with her mum will finally come true . . .

Newsround will also be supporting the Ö÷²¥´óÐã's Taking Care season, with a special Newsround Extra looking at what life is like for children living in care; other Newsround Extras will bring in-depth reports on gang culture, the effects of obesity on young people, as well as an exclusive report from Lizzie Greenwood with the British Antarctic Survey in Antarctica.

Watch out for some weird and wonderful 'virtual' creatures in BAMZOOKi, an exciting new entertainment show for The CÖ÷²¥´óÐã Channel.

Using cutting-edge technology and simulations, winning designs from children across the UK are turned into computer-generated creatures - 'zooks' - which are put to the test against each other in a series of challenges. The show is presented by Jake Humphrey.

And on CBeebies, Big Cook, Little Cook is a new comical cookery programme for younger viewers.

Comic duo Big Cook Ben and Little Cook Small run their own café and take viewers on a journey of discovery with exciting recipes that explore shape, colour and texture, making delicious things that children will want to try out for themselves at home.

Dorothy Prior, Controller of CÖ÷²¥´óÐã, said: "I believe there's a wonderfully rich and exciting mix of high quality programming across the CÖ÷²¥´óÐã and CBeebies schedules this winter, which offers young viewers a chance to enjoy the very best UK drama, news and entertainment.

"I also hope that CÖ÷²¥´óÐã's involvement in the Taking Care season, as well as the sensitive issues tackled in the drama Feather Boy and Newsround, will empower and offer support to children and will encourage all young people to explore some of the more challenging issues in the world in which they live."
