Synopses

Episode one

Ìý

Fifteen-year-old twins Ashley and Jade are sitting sipping lattes in their local café when they are approached by a model spotter from a local agency, but it's not the beautiful Jade who gets the nod, it's the self-confessed lanky geek Ashley.

Ìý

Parents Pauline and Terry want to support their daughter and give her the best opportunity – so Pauline goes ahead and makes the call. Within days Ashley is introduced to her agent Murray Priestman, contracts are signed, promises are made, and life in the Webb household starts to change.

Ìý

Pauline's daily routine of making dinners at the local comprehensive, selling door-to-door cosmetics and nights out at the local takes a bit of a battering as she encourages Ashley on her big adventure and with this finds herself compromising her relationship with her family and her friends.

Ìý

Twin sister Jade is finding it increasingly difficult to deal with her jealousy, now life seems to revolve around Ashley not only at school but also at home.

Ìý

However, for Ashley - aside from the initial nerves - she seems to be fitting into her new life perfectly; she is already attending photo shoots and finally gets the call that could change the fortunes of the entire family.

Ìý

Episode two

Ìý

Bookings are now starting to come into the agency for Ashley, so the next stop is catwalk training in Paris, which of course includes a six-star hotel for her chaperone and constant companion Pauline, who is luxuriating in every moment of her daughter's success.

Ìý

Pauline finds herself at the centre of press opportunities and PR strategies, and appears to be talking a different language from everyone else.

Ìý

She is starting to find it more and more difficult to be in more than one place at any time and finds herself letting Val down, until the canteen kitchen crisis reaches breaking point.

Ìý

Terry goes ballistic when he sees a risqué poster shot of Ashley in the middle of Runcorn and calls an emergency meeting – which raises the question: 'Just who can you trust in this industry?'

Ìý

Episode three

Ìý

The first big cheque arrives for Ashley and everyone gets a chunk of it. There's enough left over for the girls to send the grown-ups off to a swanky hotel in Manchester to be out of the way, whilst they organise a party at the house.

Ìý

The party turns into a complete disaster as the newly decorated house gets trashed, Jade's boyfriend Darren has left with arch enemy Cathy Mac, and Jade decides to spend the night with Ashley's boyfriend Hardeep.

Ìý

When she wakes the following morning she knows this was a seriously bad move and that she has made a big, big mistake.

Ìý

A knock on the door at the Webbs the next morning brings shocking news for Terry. A tabloid reporter uncovers a secret from his past that he thought had gone away for good, bringing public humiliation aplenty for Murray and Pauline.

Ìý

Ashley realises that all this attention and subsequent unhappiness stems from her modelling and threatens to give the whole lot up.

Ìý

Episode four

Ìý

Ashley's been invited to model at her first runway show and the entire family plus selected hangers-on arrive in glamorous London for the event. A nervous Ashley storms the show, but Pauline's behaviour is becoming increasingly odd.

Ìý

Terry seems to be the only person able to at least try to talk some kind of sense into her, but this ends in a very loud and very public argument.

Ìý

The next gathering for the Webbs is at Jade and Ashley's 16th birthday party.

Ìý

A birthday celebrating the passing from child to adulthood, but more importantly the day that Ashley's contract is up for renewal.

Ìý

Pauline declares the birth of Pauline Webb Management, and her first client is Ashley, which creates World War III between Murray and Pauline. Behind all the smiles and birthday wishes, Jade reveals to Orla her worries about being pregnant with Hardeep's baby.

Ìý

As secrets spill and lives start to unravel, a crushed and lonely Ashley accuses her entire family of hating her and decides to move into Nana's house and back to Murray's management.

Ìý

This decision seals a £1 million cosmetics contract, making Ashley a very rich, yet very unhappy girl. So what will Pauline do now?
