Tim Draxl plays Professor Mike French

Supernova returns to Ö÷²¥´óÐã TWO for second series

Professor Mike French (Tim Draxl)

Mike French is a child prodigy who re-wrote the time space acceleration theory at the age of 11.

Ìý

He also has issues with his mother.

Ìý

Mike is a genius and should know a thing or two about the way the world works. Sadly he had little time for anything approaching a normal childhood and is a naïve, emotionally repressed 20-something virgin instead.

Ìý

Mike's going through a kind of delayed puberty and it falls to Paul and the team to mentor him through the murky waters.

Ìý

Nuclear physics is a doddle for Mike – but when it comes to passing his driving test or talking to girls, he needs as much help as he can get.

Tim Draxl plays Professor Mike French

Tim Draxl says that for him, series two is "about my character Professor Mike French becoming a man. He's matured and become a bit more clued in about life and women."

Ìý

Mike decides it's time he learned more about girls. Disastrously for him however, the first target of his affection is Rachel. He laughs: "Mike ends up in the kitchen, trying to wash up seductively and lure Rachel to his room with protein bars."

Ìý

He continues: "[Mike is] the most innocent of them all. He gets away with everything because he's angelic and pure. There is nothing calculated about him."

Ìý

Tim also revelled in a new found talent: "I love physical comedy, but it isn't something I've done before. It's nice to be able to explore this geeky young character through the humour and by my body."

Ìý

Tim Draxl's versatility has seen him perform on stage, screen and in his own cabaret show. He is best known for his performances in the television drama Sharknet, for which he earned a TV Week Logie nomination.

Ìý

He starred in the feature films Swimming Upstream, Travelling Light and Dirty Deeds. Since the last series, Tim has appeared in the Griffin Theatre play Nailed and completed a cabaret show which was extended to a sell-out five week run.

Ìý

He has recently moved to New York to try his luck in the music and acting scene there.
