The One And Only... Ìý
Graham Norton presents The One And Only...

The One And Only... – starts Saturday 5 January at 7.20pm on Ö÷²¥´óÐã One

Ö÷²¥´óÐã One unveils the singing superstars who will be battling it out in the live finals of The One And Only...

Bringing some music and glamour to Saturday nights, Ö÷²¥´óÐã One's exciting new prime-time talent show The One And Only... will leave viewers amazed and wondering if seeing really is believing.

Ìý

Imagine swinging Sinatra doing big band battle with the undisputed princess of pop Kylie, or the timeless Elton John fighting it out against sexy chanteuse Cher. That's exactly what's in store for viewers when some of the UK's best tribute acts take to the stage for The One And Only... live shows.

Ìý

Presented by Graham Norton, the programme will showcase the nation's leading tribute acts in a quest to win a once in a life time opportunity – a three month performing contract in Las Vegas with the renowned Legends In Concert, the world's longest-running celebrity impersonator show.

Ìý

To be in with a chance of winning performers don't just have to sing like a musical superstar, they have to look like them, dress like them and act like them – transforming themselves into the icon of their dreams.

Ìý

Graham Norton says: "It's hard enough singing live on stage but with the added pressure of being as good as some of the world's biggest musical stars this is going to be a tough talent show. Each of the 'superstars' are going to have to pull out all the stops to show that they not only have the voice, but also the looks and the presence to prove that they really are The One And Only..."

The finalists

Ìý

Following episode one and two's Superfan Singoffs (Saturday 5 January, Ö÷²¥´óÐã One) ten of the tribute acts through to the live finals have been revealed...

Ìý

Nationwide auditions were held to find the best three tribute acts for each of our ten chosen musical superstars, representing some of the biggest names from popular music over the past 50 years.

Ìý

Each group of tribute acts were then put through their paces in the nail-biting Superfan Singoffs where they had to impress the toughest panel of all – the superfans of their idols.

Ìý

The ten lucky finalists chosen by the superfans to battle it out live on Saturday nights are:

Ìý

For the boys:

Ìý

  • Ed Hintze is the one and only Elton John
  • Anthony Adams is the one and only Frank Sinatra
  • Moni Tivony is the one and only Lionel Richie
  • Tony Lewis is the one and only Robbie Williams
  • Greg Dorrell is the one and only Rod Stewart

Ìý

For the girls:

Ìý

  • Joanna Berns is the one and only Cher
  • Siam Hurlock is the one and only Diana Ross
  • Katy Setterfield is the one and only Dusty Springfield
  • Victoria Jones is the one and only Kylie
  • Evelyne Brink is the one and only Madonna

Ìý

Two additional places in the finals are still up for grabs with viewers having voted for their favourite wildcard entry during the audition shows.

Ìý

Hoping to win a place for the boys are tributes to Cliff Richard, Freddie Mercury and Tom Jones; while for the girls the tributes are to Britney Spears, Mariah Carey and Tina Turner.

Ìý

The two lucky hopefuls (one male and one female) will be unveiled in the first of the live shows on Saturday 12 January.

Ìý

The live shows (episodes 3-8)

Ìý

Each week the tribute acts will be put through their paces as they try to capture the essence of their musical superstar with a live performance. They will be transformed into the star they idolise by a host of top professionals, from choreographers to make-up artists and costume makers.

Ìý

Established vocal coaches to the stars Carrie and David Grant will be on hand to mentor, prepare and perfect the sounds of the acts.

Ìý

Surrounded by a studio audience of friends and family and the superfans who chose them, the tribute acts will take to the stage and sing their hearts out for the chance to go through to the following week's show and ultimately the grand final with the hope of winning the once in a lifetime opportunity of performing in Las Vegas.

Ìý

Host Graham Norton will be joined in the studio by Carrie and David who will be offering their expert analysis on each of the performances.

Ìý

Graham will also chat to the superfans and friends and family about what they think of the acts. Then it's up to the viewers at home to decide the destiny of the tribute acts as they vote to keep their favourite one in the series.

Ìý

Viewers can also join in the fun at home by pressing the red button on their remote control to enjoy a karaoke sing-along with each of the acts' performances on the show.

Ìý

The results show

Ìý

With their individual performances over and as they await the all important viewers votes, the tribute acts open the results show with a special group performance. There will also be a special performance each week from a guest tribute band singing a classic crowd-pleaser.

Ìý

After a tense wait the tribute acts will learn just who has managed to convince the audience that he or she is a musical superstar. The acts with the most viewers' votes will be safe and through to next show, while the two acts with the least votes will have to perform again in the Superstar Sing-off.

Ìý

Then in the Superstar Vote it's down to the rival acts that are safe to decide which of the bottom two acts they wish to keep in the contest. The act with the least votes will be out of the contest, their dreams of making it to Vegas shattered.

Ìý

Who can combine their looks, voice and acting talents into a complete package that suspends the audience's disbelief? Who will the nation choose as their greatest superstar double?
