Is it too late to get a ticket?

Booking for Ö÷²¥´óÐã Radio 1Xtra Live in Glasgow has now closed and all available tickets have been allocated. We’re sorry if you missed out – the demand for tickets was huge and we were not able to give them to everyone hoping to go.

A final few tickets will be given away in on-air competitions on 1Xtra – keep listening for more information.

If you weren’t lucky in getting tickets, you’ll be able to enjoy extensive coverage of the event on 1Xtra and Radio 1.

How can I listen to the event?

1Xtra Live in Glasgow will be broadcast on and from 7-11pm on the 17th May. 

What kind of event is it and who will be playing?

Ö÷²¥´óÐã Radio 1Xtra Live in Glasgow will be a massive celebration of the music 1Xtra loves, with DJs MistaJam, Charlie Sloth and Target joined by special guests Breach, Duke Dumont and DJ Fresh.

The event will be outdoors at Glasgow’s Riverside Museum – please bring your dancing shoes!

How old do you have to be to attend?

You need to be 16 or over to attend Ö÷²¥´óÐã Radio 1Xtra Live in Glasgow.

ID will be requested at the entrance, with the following forms of ID accepted:

1. A valid passport

2. A valid European Union Photocard Driving Licence

3. A valid photographic identity card bearing the National Proof Of age Standards Scheme (PASS) hologram

Bars will be operating a ‘Challenge 25’ policy. If bar staff feel you look under the age of 25 they will ask you to provide photo ID with proof that you are 18 or over. The three forms of ID above will be the only ones that will be accepted.

What time does the event start and finish?

Gates will open around 5.30pm and the event will finish around 11pm.

When will I get my tickets?

Tickets will be sent out in early May to the address you provided when booking and we cannot change this. Tickets are printed with a unique barcode, which is scanned at the entrance to the event. They are fully traceable and we can cancel them at any time by invalidating the barcode.

When will I get my confirmation email?

Confirmation emails are sent almost immediately after booking, but can sometimes take a few hours to be delivered due to the way some email providers check for junk mail. If you haven’t received your confirmation please check your junk/spam folders in the first instance. If you still cannot find anything, it’s possible you gave us the wrong email address when booking. Please keep hold of the booking reference number we asked you to write down at the end of the booking process as this will mean we can track your tickets if there is a problem.

What happens if my tickets don’t arrive?

If your tickets have not arrived by Wednesday 7 May you can request replacements by calling the number in your Ticket Confirmation email – however this must be done by 5pm on Monday 12 May or we will be unable to help.

Your original tickets will be cancelled and the barcode on them invalidated – this means they will not give you entry to the event. In order to collect your replacement tickets you will need to provide Photo ID or the credit/debit card used to make the booking plus proof you live at the address used when booking - for example a driving licence or utility bill.

Why do tickets appear on social media and is it safe to buy them?

Please do not risk buying tickets. Those offering tickets for sale or as prizes are breaking the Terms & Conditions they agreed to during the booking process and we reserve the right to cancel them.

Unfortunately a small handful of people do try to take advantage of those disappointed at missing out on getting tickets and claim – often falsely - they have tickets you can either buy, or win, via social media. We ask those running major auction websites and sales outlets to have posts offering tickets for sale or trade removed. However, since posts do not need to be approved before appearing, they are unable to stop them being advertised in the first place.

You may also see posts on other social media sites from people claiming they have tickets to give away as prizes. We are unable to stop people doing this and there is no way to know if their claims to have tickets are genuine – in many cases they may simply be trying to get more publicity for their pages.

You should also be aware that, in the past, some people have claimed their tickets have failed to arrive and cancelled them, ordering replacements. They have then offered the original tickets for sale; with those buying them not realising they are worthless until they turn up at the event on the day. There is a high probability that any tickets offered for sale for the event will have been cancelled and will not allow entry to the event.

What should I wear?

This is an outdoor event and you may want to check the weather forecast before coming, bringing suntan lotion, raincoats, jumpers, or all three, accordingly. Temperatures are likely to dip when the sun goes down and the event continues until around 11pm.

A number of items are not permitted into the arena including golf umbrellas, flags and portable chairs – you can check out the ticket for full details  

Can I bring food and drink into the event?

No food or drink can be taken into the site – with the exception of personal supplies of water in a plastic container with an unbroken seal (up to 500 ml per person); or special medical supplies (please bring a doctor’s note if these are not obviously medicinal).

Food and alcohol will be on sale inside the venue. Bars at the event will be operating a ‘Challenge 25’ policy. Can I bring a camera?

Yes, but please be aware professional photography equipment is not allowed and we advise you to leave zoom lenses and other pieces of expensive film/filming equipment at home. Profession recording equipment is prohibited.

What facilities are you providing for disabled people?

We are committed to doing all we can to ensure everyone can enjoy this unique event and will have a range of facilities in place to assist disabled people.

Those wishing to attend will need to apply for tickets in the normal way; however, if successful, they will be able to request an additional, complimentary, PA/Companion ticket.

Please note these facilities are not available to those with short-term injuries, for example broken legs, or women who are pregnant. There are medical and welfare facilities on site for all customers, but use of the disabled facilities will be strictly regulated.

How did you decide on the ticket distribution?

Staging this event would be impossible without the co-operation and support of Glasgow City Council and, as with Radio 1’s Big Weekend, an element of preference was therefore given to those resident in the local area.

We do understand those who missed out on tickets may feel more should have been reserved for their particular area; unfortunately, with so many people hoping to attend, no distribution method would have been able to satisfy everybody.

Can I volunteer / do work experience?

We are not currently looking for volunteers or work experience staff, however .

Can I request tickets for my charity?

We get numerous requests asking for tickets for charity initiatives and other good causes, but unfortunately are not usually able to help. We try to read all requests sent to us; however please do not be offended if, due to the large number of enquiries we receive, we do not have time to respond to you personally.
