My family album is dedicated to my wonderful mother, Sarah Seddon. Some of my favourite memories as a child were singing along to songs on the radio with her, and this particular song is one of her favourites (the volume would increase if this came on the radio!) I never really understood the song as a child, but as an adult I have come to love it. In my eyes, the lyrics come to mean that hard work pays off - it just takes time! My mum works very hard as the Head Teacher of a special needs school, but I think she’d rather have a caravan than a boat when she retires!

My mum Sarah was born in the year 1972, and she was a big Whitney fan! She’d have been 13 years old when this song was released, and I can just imagine her singing her heart out to this one! When Whitney’s ultimate collection came out in 2007, I was 14 years old and this was one of the first songs I learnt all the words to. Now, mum and I can blast it out together (we just don’t sound as good as Whitney!)

One of our favourite chick flick films to watch is The Wedding Singer, starring Adam Sandler and Drew Barrymore. Mum and I just love the music in the film and this song in particular gets us up and dancing around the living room! It’s just one of those feel-good songs that you can’t help but smile to and be happy when you hear it. This song usually comes on if we’re celebrating something too!

I know this has been on Family Albums before, but it had to feature on my album to my mum. Growing up in the 90s, I loved listening to the music mum played in the house (and she had all of Céline's albums!) This beautiful song has always stayed with me as a favourite. It’s special to me because the words perfectly sum up how I feel about both my mum - and dad of course! Without them, I wouldn’t be where I am today. Their love and support has helped me through good and bad times and I love them very much. I actually got to see Céline Dion play live in 2017 and she was just incredible!

I’m a big Beyoncé fan, and have been lucky enough to see her 3 times with my mum. The first concert we saw her in was at Orlando in Florida whilst on holiday there. It was the best music concert I’ve ever been to, and we even had the shock of seeing Beyoncé fall down a flight of stairs whilst singing ‘Ring the Alarm’! Thankfully she recovered within a minute and continued to "diva" her way across the stage - true showmanship! Although my mum has never been as big a fan as me, she has always enjoyed singing along and she's often been the Jay Z to my Beyoncé! This is, again, one of our favourites to sing along to together! We’ve often joked we could be her backing singers but I’m not convinced she’d be best impressed...

This final song is really special to me, as we used this song as the background music for my late Nan’s 80th birthday picture slideshow presentation. She loved seeing all the photos from her past and present, and we played the same slideshow at her funeral. She passed away in 2017 and and I know my mum misses her terribly, but this song helps us all smile through the tears. My Nan and mum are amazing role models for me. I know that in the future, when I have children of my own, my mum will be the best grandmother to them. She is truly the best mum a girl could have, and I’m so grateful to have her in my life.

This first track is for my mum, as I don't know what we'd do without her and word's can't describe how much I love her. We both lived in Porto Banus in the 90s and would always request this song in a live music venue called Old Joy's Bar. You're simply the best Mum!

This second song is for my husband - we met on an online dating agency. Martin was actually my 13th date! Within three months i'd moved up from Essex to Sunderland where he's from - he'd sing this song all the time.

This song was one of our first songs we (I and Martin) when we started going out - he always tells me I'm beautiful!

This song is for our beautiful daughter Georgia. We thought we could never have kids, and she's our little miracle. This song isn't my favourite but it's one of hers and it's always on the radio!

Martin and I had our first wedding dance to this song in St Lucia. Previously we went to see Robbie Williams in Knebworth and I though he'd propose to me there - but he had other ideas! We later went on holiday to visit my mum in Porto Banus and he actually proposed to me there!

This last song is just for me. I love watching Strictly Come Dancing especially last year with Emma Barton and Anton Du Beke - their quickstep to this song was amazing (they scored 29!) Martin and I's 15th wedding anniversary is coming up on the 12th of March which will be our Chrystal - so this has to be our last song!

My dad always used to play this song when I was a child. It was one of the records in his album collection that myself and my sister always asked him to put on the turntable - not that I'm old enough to remember when vinyl records were popular the first time!

This song was one of mine and my sisters favourite songs - we would dance round the living room pretending we were the band members! To this day whenever I hear Boney M I dance along and pretend that I can sing... except now it's not the living room but at public gigs!

This song always reminds me of my holidays in the Isles of Scilly as a teenager. One of the beaches (Porthcressa beach) had a cafe that ran a disco downstairs, and we used to go for the same two weeks every year and meet up with lots of other people the same age! Once the pub crawl along the street had concluded, we'd move onto the disco. We got to know a lot of the locals and would coordinate our dates with other families. This meant that there were generally a large number of us singing and dancing along - air guitar was obligatory obviously!

My Uncle was a massive Elvis fan - unfortunately due to Alzheimers and Dementia he died 18 months ago. Even in the later stages of illness he still recognized the lovely sound of Elvis’ voice. We's often put one of his CDs on, and when he could he would sing along. It always had a calming influence on him when he was in an agitated state. Whenever I hear one of his songs it always reminds me of him and all the fond memories I have gathered over the years.

When I was a child my Dad used to play John Denver records, among the many other artists he had in the collection. I have always been a fan of country music and due to my dad’s influence have several country records in my own music collection.

I am a massive Bon Jovi fan (we will ignore the fact I forgot their hits in the 99’s when I was On The Ball) and feel the lyrics sum up all the feelings that I have about my family and friends.

This song reminds me of my late Dad John, from his time spent in the RAF. He served for 30 years and was stationed away in Cyprus and Latterly Aden - this song brings back happy memories of Dad returning home, and even now hearing it transports me back to those times.

This was a song both my mum, Gwen, and Dad always sang along to when we were young. My sisters, Pauline and Shirley and I would sing along with them. I treasure those moments!

My husband Shaun and I took mum to see Engelbert Humperdink at the Harrogate Conference Centre as a surprise because he was her favourite artist. At the time she was in a nursing home, and she really enjoyed watching him perform his songs live. To see my mum's joy at this time was priceless.

This song was another favourite of my mum's. When I used to care for her, we'd play this a lot. We'd often listen to this whilst doing crossword puzzles: it was a very happy time.

My mum absolutely loved the sound of Richard Marx's voice. This song in particular was a favourite of hers.

Though sad as my two wonderful sisters are no longer with us, this song brings back memories of countless happy times that we shared which I will treasure forever.

I met the love of my life and now husband (Jamie) on 22.11.88 while we were at Hyde 6th Form College in Cheshire.
I was 16, he was 17. We loved INXS, had all their albums on vinyl and cassette and this song became “our” song.

In 1990, we split up and went our separate ways but apparently when this song came out, Jamie used to listen to it and apparently think about me. We played it at our wedding.

This song was number one in 1990, when we split up and was number one in 2002, when we got back together! Yes he got in touch via Friends Reunited and the rest is history, as they say. Can you believe that the same song was number one, 12 years apart, when we split up and when we got back together. What are the chances of that???

Well I'm named after this song, which was also in the charts the year I was born, 1972. My Mum loved the song and that’s how I came to be named Caroline!

I love my Mum very much, we have a great relationship and love Mamma Mia. One Christmas, we bought each other the same present, the Mamma Mia DVD. I see her every week but every year we have one week together in Greece on holiday and it’s fabulous. Just me and Mum time. When I listen to this song, I think about her and me and growing up and I cry all the way through it.

Finally, Jamie and I were blessed to have amazing son called Jack. He’s 15 now and is preparing for his GCSEs. He’s lovely, he’s handsome, kind and caring, with a great sense of humour. He works hard and is committed to whatever he puts his mind to. Jamie actually picked out this song for him years ago when he was little. We're extremely proud of him.

My first choice would be Barry White - You're the First, the Last, My Everything... it was the first song my husband Gary and I danced to the night we met, in a bit of a dive in Chester way back in 2005.

My second song is Sugababes - Push the Button... I secretly changed my husband Gary's ringtone on his phone to this.

My third choice for Gary on his birthday is Neil Diamond - Sweet Caroline... Gary always sings "sweet Karen's mine" and I love this little romantic gesture by him.

My fourth choice is our song, Lonestar - Amazed... I sing this to him on karaoke all the time. The words are special to us... we finally got married in 2017 and this was our first dance.

And finally my last choice is Celine Dion - Because You Loved Me... the words sum up how I feel about him. He is not only a fantastic husband, he is my best friend. We have a great laugh together and I will love him to the moon and back and all the stars and spaceships in between.

This was one of my dad’s favourite songs and I remember him singing it at home regularly when I was a child. Dad couldn’t hold a note but he always knew all the words and enjoyed music. It’s such an emotive song and will always remind me of him.

My mam was a huge Tina Turner fan. Whenever a Tina song came on, wherever we were, she couldn’t sit still and had to dance. For some reason, she always pulled up her trouser legs to do her Tina dance. I have the amazing memories of taking her to see Tina live. Mam had never been to a live concert before and we had a fantastic, toe tapping time.

This is such a positive, upbeat song and whenever I play it, it reminds me of the time both our children were born and the happiness this brought us all. Unfortunately, Jack and Lilly never got to meet their Grandad but we’ve certainly kept his memory alive through them.

This song is certainly a family anthem from a fantastic and so underrated group. We often have impromptu kitchen discos and Scouting For Girls are usually our headline act. Such a dance inducing crowd pleaser!

A few years ago, on a surprise trip to London, my friend and I took our mams to Ronnie Scott’s. We were having so much fun and laughter until this song came on and we were all in tears! Once we realised, the tears stopped and we were smiling again. One things my parents taught me was to keep smiling through and always put on a brave face.

Billy Joel is a firm family favourite and my husbands favourite musician. We were lucky enough to go and see Billy Joel play at Old Trafford a couple of years ago and he was fantastic. We all sing along to Piano Man when Jack plays it on the piano.

My Dad’s first crush was Doris Day and he always talks about her films and the way there was a soft focus “haze” around her in every film. My Mam always jokingly rolls her eyes.

Dad loves Eva Cassidy’s voice and I recorded me singing it for him last year for his 79th birthday. It took me a long time to get it right and he was thrilled with it.

We always would sit around at Christmas and watch the Morecambe and Wise Christmas show as a whole family. My mam, dad, brother Graham and me.

My Dad loved this when he heard it on the radio so my daughter, Carina, recorded herself singing it for him as a surprise. He loves to listen to her voice and both my Mam and Dad would come to see my daughter sing in her school concerts.

My Dad loves the Glen Miller Story film and loves the end scene where June Allison hears the little brown jug on the radio and feels the hairs stand up on the back of her neck. My daughter and I now love this film too.

My Dad loves Roy Orbison’s voice and has both of the CDs that have been remastered with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra. He loves music and always had either an album or the radio on when I was a child.

My second track has to be for my hubby Michael. He is an absolute gem and so patient and so positive despite the struggles we have to face. For him I would like you to play Candy by Paulo Nutini. Mike bought this CD for me when it was first released. We listened to it together, we were both in tears at the end of it; if you listen carefully to words, I'm sure you and your listeners will understand why.

When my daughter Carla was growing up, we used to listen to lots of soul music together and one of her favourite singers is Anita Baker, so I would really like you to play You Bring me Joy, because that is exactly what she brings to me.

For myself I would luuurve you to play Candi Staton Young Hearts Run Free. This was released in 1976, the year that Mike and I met. It has to be my absolute favourite song of all time and whenever I hear it, the radio is turned up full blast and I'm dancing around the room until it stops.

All of the Satchwell family are Elvis Presley fans, so I must choose Way Down for Daniel. Daniel is probably the biggest Elvis fan in our family, whenever we have get togethers at our home Daniel has to sing this. He has all the moves too so if you could play this one for him he would be delighted.

Finally Michael can you please play Simply The Best by Tina Turner. This is a dedication to all my family as they are simply the best!

When we started dating in January 1997, Den said the second thing he noticed about me were my lovely brown eyes. (I won't embarrass either of us by mentioning the first thing!) Den would play this song on the jukebox everywhere we went. Even now he still calls me his "brown eyed girl" and this is a very special song for us.

We only had 8 weeks together before I went abroad working for the summer. We didn't have mobiles back then so contact was limited to 2 calls a week with no privacy. I'd listen to the words of this song and felt it was written for us. Den came over in June and proposed and we were officially engaged and moved in together, within 2 days of me arriving home. We got married the following September.

Den picked this song for the first dance on our Wedding Day in 1998. I was very sulky about it at the time, as I wanted Luther Vandross' Here and Now, but Den was insistent! However over the years I have grown to love it and think that he made the perfect choice. When I listen to the lyrics even now, it takes me right back to our special day and makes me feel so emotional.

This song reminds us of an idyllic weekend in Edinburgh in December 2005. We watched the Great Santa Run in the park, stroked the reindeer and browsed the German Christmas markets, drinking hot mulled wine. We were sat on the Ferris wheel, feeling a bit tipsy and festive, when this song came on. All was right with the world and this song always reminds us of our perfect weekend.

Every Saturday night we take turns choosing songs and it often goes on for hours. This let us to share our love of music with Bailey, who is now a keen music lover and guitarist. Over the years we've listened to many different artists and this song is one of our favourites. It makes us feel young and carefree and it reminds me so much of Den - genuine, but not romantic in the typical sense!!!!

I first heard this song on Radio 2 about a year ago and it instantly gave me goosebumps. I couldn't wait to get home to see Den's reaction to hearing it and I wasn't disappointed! We both really love this song, listening to it over and over and are still wowed not only by his voice but also the gorgeous sentiment. We really hope to see him live at some point in the future, as we can't wait to hear more.

Laurence and I met on holiday in 1974 in Torquay and after months of communication by letter - YES LETTER (no social media in those days and my father kept a tight rein on the use of the home phone) we started long distance dating, which eventually led to us getting married 3 years later. On our second date he bought me this single by a band I'd never heard of but since then it has been “our song”.

When the children were young we had many family holidays camping in Brittany, which entailed driving through the night to the ferry port. The music we played on the car always made the long journeys more bearable, but the first album we always played when we hit French soil was Chris Rea’s New Light Through Old Windows and the volume was always turned up to max for this one - Working On It.

In 2010 our son Richard married Kate in Lancaster. It was the most beautiful day and was brought to a fabulous finale, surprisingly by my hubby Laurence, who is normally a reserved and quiet man. Swept up in the emotion of the day he got the entire party of 70 family and friends to their feet in an enormous conga around the hotel to this song. It was a moment of sheer and unexpected joy.

This takes us back to a lovely family holiday in Portugal to celebrate Laurence's 60th. Unbeknownst to us our famliy had arranged for a singer and guitarist to play at our villa. We were locked in our room and then were led onto the patio to listen to his gentle crooning of a mix of Bob Dylan, Beatles and Neil Young but his piece de resistance was this song. A perfect evening never to be forgotten.

This brings back a treasured memory of my late father Dennis. At mother’s 80th party Dad, who was very slightly built and not very robust, stood up and gave the most amazing rendition of this on the karaoke machine. Where he found the power and energy to belt out this at full voice we will never know, but at his funeral some years later there was only one song we could play in tribute !

This is special for several reasons for me. I joined Rock Choir 8 years ago and I can safely say it has been one of the most life affirming things I have ever done, bringing me new friends and fabulous opportunities to sing for the sheer joy of it. This is one of the first songs we learned to sing and my family saw me perform it with my choir and it meant so much to me to have them in the audience.

This is the one song that I can pick out of the millions that reminds me of my adored dad. I remember coming in from school one afternoon, this was playing on our radio gram, dad was in the kitchen, tea towel on his shoulder, preparing our tea, with his back to me, singing this at the top of his voice, he had the most wonderful voice and used to sing a lot when I was young.

When me and my sister Pauline were young, we made up a whole dance routine to this song which we ‘performed’ for my mum and dad. We thought we were amazing! Almost 5 yrs ago my sister was diagnosed with breast cancer, surgeries and chemotherapy and radiation took place, she became a warrior, she faced it all with courage and determination, and amazed me with her bravery, I cried every day for that year, watching her battle, feeling so helpless, but, she is well, lost lots of weight and training to run the Race For Life, she is amazing and this song reminds me of us being little girls with not a care in the world, when we were great playmates

This song is for my lovely hubby John. We met 42 years ago and have been married for 36 yrs and have our 3 wonderful children and 2 amazing grandsons. There have been lots of bumps in the road, but we have made it this far. Now, I am under no illusion that I am the only love in his life, I have to share him with his beloved Celtic, and this song reminds him of watching matches with his Dad.

I'm a huge Rod fan and have seen him more than a dozen times over the years. This is one of my favourites and a firm favourite of my husband's. It reminds me of our trips home in the car from England to Scotland to visit his family when we would play all our favourite tunes and sing along during the 5/6 hour journey, chatting and laughing and just enjoying our time together.

This was in the charts when my eldest son was a toddler and for some reason he just loved it, and would sing ‘Manic Monday oh we oh’ over and over every time it came on. Each time I hear it, it reminds me of being a young first time mum, enjoying watching this wonderful little human being learn and play and how amazing I thought it all was.

Now this is a strange one! As a tiny child my dad used to sit me on his piano stool and play and sing this song to me. He used to tell me that he had written it especially for me. I had the lyrics made into a poster for my dad one Father’s Day and as he read it and realised what it was he burst into tears, it brings back so many wonderful memories for me.

My Husband Tony very sadly passed away in January 2015, leaving a huge gaping hole in our family. I was a young girl of 20 when I met him and in those days you heard music in pubs on the good old jukebox and he hated this song which was all about breaking up of course and empty houses without kids - but I loved it! So we always had it on just for laugh! So I guess that's my 1st choice...

Due to the age difference we lost lots of our friends and as we couldn't afford to buy a house in Surrey, we moved to Bedford when Tony got promoted at the Post Office. We soon had a new circle of friends who accepted us for who we were. I loved this song as it sums up everything that I loved about Tony, and that was my choice at his funeral. Not a very well known track but very poignant.

Tony loved Reggae, and he loved Bob Marley. He also loved the sun and had a PERMANENT tan, which he would top up at every opportunity. It was always the aim of family and friends, whilst away on their holidays, to "get as brown as Tony", but they never could! Was this partly due to his spell in the RAF which he served in Egypt?

He was always whistling and singing "ditties" and one of his favourites was this and yes we also had it played at his funeral (his choice!!) , causing the lovely vicar to say she had never EVER heard that a funeral, and never expected to ever hear it again! Sad? Yes but we could all hear him laughing at that one and it made a very sad occasion a little lighter and easier for us all.....

My Dad was also a small man with a HUGE character, huge family and huge passion for dancing. His sudden passing in 2010 knocked all of us for 6 and sadly within a few years, because of the similar age I guess, I lost my Mum, Dad AND my husband within a 5 year period.... not an easy time. My track for Dad.... oh that's easy... got got GOT to be a Frank Sinatra track!!

He was desperate to reach his 80th Birthday on the 23rd Jan 2015, but being realistic, we decided, in the October of 2014, to have an early party with all our family and friends, so we decided to Renew our Vows, after 34.5 years. and we had "our song" played as we came in, Have I Told You Lately That I love You, by Van Morrison, & to go out we had Shania Twain's You're Still the One,

My first choice is Paul Simon, Father and Daughter. I remember this song coming out when I was 13 and me and my dad singing along on car journeys. We also had this as the father daughter dance at our wedding last year. Whenever I hear it it makes me think of my amazing Dad, the first man I ever loved.

My second choice is Warwick Avenue by Duffy as this was very popular when John and I met back in 2008. Although it’s a sad song about breaking up we still loved it and it became the song that reminded us of each other.

My third choice is Tears for fears, head over heels. This is one of John’s favourite songs. It reminds him of his childhood growing up in Sheffield.

I absolutely love musicals and over there years I have managed to get John to love them too. Our favourite is Les Misérables and our favourite song has to be the beautiful, Stars. We are looking forward to seeing Michael sing this in August, which is a 30th birthday treat for me.

Have I Told You Lately by Van Morrison was the song a street artist was singing on the Balcon de Europa in Nerja, Spain when John got down on one knee as asked me to marry him in 2016. It was, without a doubt, one of the best nights of my life. We celebrated with champagne and having a paddle in the sea at midnight!!

Finally is Jessie Ware with Your Domino. Our first gig together was Jessie in Sheffield. She is an amazing live performer and we love so many of her songs it was hard to choose! We had Til the end as our first dance but Your Domino is definitely our favourite for getting up and dancing.

Whenever this song used to come on the radio, we would all sing along to it. Even my Dad can hit that excruciatingly high note towards the end. I don't think in all the years we've listened to it that any of us have actually nailed that note but we go for it anyway. It also reminds me of the first boy I really liked, but that's a more embarrassing detail...

As I mentioned, my parents are amazing hosts and they regularly have events at their house. When it comes to the bigger ones, as soon as the last guest has gone, the 'clear-up' playlist goes. This one always features, and involves my two brothers pretending to play the flute (on beer bottles) in the instrumental sections. Same thing happens during Africa by Toto, but I couldn't fit that on the list!

All five of us are die-hard Man City fans. My Dad has been a season ticket holder for most of his life and still goes to the matches every week if he can. This song is one of my earliest memories of family days out. I couldn't understand, at my first match, how everyone just knew how to sing this together! Also this is definitely the most family-friendly of the tunes I've heard there over the years...

I distinctly remember the first time we heard this song as a family. We were driving back from visiting family one Saturday and this came on the radio. My brothers and I thought it was so incredibly hilarious that we then had it on repeat for the rest of the journey. And all three of us still know all the words.

This one is for my Mum. She absolutely loves this song. Whenever it comes on the radio it's like she morphs into some kind of fashion icon and does the vogue move. She takes this song VERY seriously!

Luckily for my parents, I was a very easy child to please. That is, until I was introduced to S Club 7. One unfortunate holiday to Scotland, I made them listen to the same 3 songs the whole drive up, or I'd scream. The 3 songs were Reach, S Club Party, and this! So I'd like to dedicate this last song to my family who have suffered at the hand of my music choices. Long may it continue!
