Memories and Conversations: Living with Dementia

Kaye Adams and John Beattie meet Anne, Stewart and Ian, who each have a form of dementia, and who explain how it affects their lives and how they learned to cope.

Anne Macdonald, who has a rare form of dementia called PCA, invites Kaye and John to hear the stories of people who are living with dementia. They learn how her life started to change when she was just 51, and how she has learned to manage her condition and continue to live an active life. Anne introduces them to Stewart Black, who was diagnosed with early onset dementia in 2010, when he was still a good few years off retirement. Kaye and John also meet Ian Revie and his wife Moira. Ian is in his 80s and has mixed Alzheimer's and vascular dementia. Moira explains how it has changed their lives.
