Pro12 coverage from Murrayfield Stadium as Glasgow Warriors visit the capital to take on Edinburgh Rugby in a festive derby clash.

The Pro12 campaign has reached its halfway point, and the two Scottish clubs meet in a match that is vital both in terms of league points and for bragging rights in Scottish rugby circles. This fixture doubles as the first leg of the famous inter-city competition between the derby rivals: the 1872 Cup. Despite Glasgow being the more successful side in the league over the last few years, it is their capital hosts who have lifted the trophy on aggregate in the last two seasons. In fact, Edinburgh have triumphed over their west coast rivals in three of the last four meetings.

Gregor Townsend's men will be looking to change those statistics as they push for an end-of-season play-off place, while Edinburgh, under the guidance of Acting Head Coach Duncan Hodge, will be keen to show the kind of rugby that has brought victories over the Scarlets, Harlequins and Ulster this season.

Both sides come into the game off the back of two European matches and some mixed results in the league, so this will be a chance to kick-start their respective campaigns and restore some derby pride.
