25 Years of Electric Honey Records

A documentary special celebrating 25 years of the student-run record label which launched the careers of bands including Belle and Sebastian, Biffy Clyro and Snow Patrol.

Natasha Raskin Sharp celebrates 25 years of the student run record label Electric Honey Records based at Glasgow Kelvin College (previously Stow College) with lecturers, former students and the bands looking back at their time at the label. Electric Honey started in 1992 with the HND in Business Management students releasing their first record "The Buzz EP" by Baby Chaos. Since then the label has launched the careers of Belle & Sebastian, Snow Patrol under their original name Polar Bear, and Biffy Clyro as well as others like Wake The President, Woodenbox, State Broadcasters, Schnarff Schnarff, and more recently a singer who was actually on the course, Be Charlotte. For their 25th anniversary release the students and label head Ken McCluskey of The Bluebells are putting their efforts behind local band Pronto Mama with their debut album Any Joy.
