Competitors across Ireland and Scotland will take to the shores of Strangford Lough for a weekend of Skiffie boat racing, in wooden traditional boats, at Delamont Country Park.聽

Gerry O鈥橞oyle and his team set off on a run in February all the way round the coast of County Down and so far they have reached 118 miles and their target is 200 miles for a hopeful finish in September at the River Lagan, Titanic Quarter. The event will be hosted this weekend in Shane鈥檚 Castle Estate, built by the man himself in 1345, which has since become more famous throughout the world as a filming location for Game of Thrones.聽
