Three miles outside Enniskillen on the road to Tempo, there's a church that's 152 years old this September. For forty years at the turn of last century, Canon John Hall was in charge of Holy Trinity parish in the townlands of Garvary and Feddans. Not only was he a good minister he was very influential in farming, and well known for his prize winning bulls.

Portstewart Plaque For Swimmers

Portstewart Plaque For Swimmers

A new plaque was unveiled in Portstewart this week to mark the achievements of two long distance swimmers. Mercedes Gleitz swam from Moville in Donegal over to the Bearins in Portstewart in 1929 - and then 80 years later, last July, local woman Heather Clatworthy emulated her idol and completed the 15 mile swim in just over 4 hours.
