Following three inexperienced families living and working on a hill farm. Here, the families visit some farms that are fighting to take back control of the supply chain.

The families have been put through their paces on some of the biggest farms in north Wales, and now they're on a mission to explore other ways of working. While most farmers produce food for big processors and big retailers, some farms are fighting to take back control of the supply chain and get more for their hard work and for what they produce. The Morgans travel to a small pig farm and meet a family working all hours of the day to make ends meet as they take their pigs from piglets to prime pork products. The McNultys work on a 200-strong dairy farm turning their milk to high-end ice cream. And the Burtons go to work at one of Wales's leading vegetable and crop producers, a family-run fruit-and-veg operation sending quality products to high-end restaurants and artisan shops.

There's a chance for some downtime too, and a visit to the Eglwysfach Show where the finest livestock are on parade. Gareth is the vice president, so it's an important day for him, and he will want his apprentices to understand just what a rural show means to this close-knit community. The families are challenged to enter some of the competitions, and showtime in the ring brings its own stresses for Dominique and Lucy, who are showing the Highland cattle. The Morgans are tasked with feeding the hordes and making sure the produce is at its tastiest best.

The families' ability to work together is tested again, and their family dynamics are stretched and assessed - does everybody pull their weight? Who is slacking off and who takes on the lion's share? Kate and Gareth are the eagle-eyed assessors.
