Film reviews of IT: Chapter Two, the Shiny Shrimps and Rojo, while singer William McCarthy discusses a new film about his band Augustines, plus authors Bart van Es and Mary Paulson Ellis.

Film review day and we’ll be discussing new releases IT: Chapter 2, the sequel to the horror classic; The Shiny Shrimps, a French comedy about a men’s water polo team training for the world’s biggest LGBTQ+ sporting event, the Gay Games, and Rojo, an Argentinian thriller set during the time of the military dictatorship, the ‘Dirty War’ and the disappeared.

Costa Book of the Year winner Bart van Es discusses his novel The Cut Out Girl and Mary Paulson Ellis talks about her just-released second work of fiction, The Inheritance of Solomon Farthing

And Grant will be talking to American singer William McCarthy about Rise: The Story of Augustines, a film showing at this week’s Outwith Festival in Dunfermline that charts the fortunes of his band, after his brother was found dead and the rest of the members struggled to keep going in the face of financial and artistic pressures.
