Allan Clarke, Anthony O’Neill and Elif Shafak

Former Hollies member Allan Clarke discusses his new album and looks back over his career.

Grant Stott has music and conversation with legendary frontman, Allan Clarke: as the lead singer of one of the greatest British bands of all time, The Hollies, he sang and, in many cases, wrote the songs that helped to define the ‘60’s and ’70’s. He has also carved out, a critically acclaimed, solo career and his new ‘Resurgence’ solo collection is set for release this month - some 20 years after he retired from the music business to spend more time with his family!

Allan discusses how it came into being and looks back over his remarkable career.

Grant will also hear from not one but two, great authors: Elif Shafak, the world renowned Turkish-British novelist, essayist, academic, public speaker and women's rights activist…

…and Anthony O’Neill , who’s new book, The Devil Upstairs is out tomorrow. Described as ‘Rosemary’s Baby’ meets Ambrose Parry’s ‘The Way Of The Flesh’ – it’s a devilishly brilliant allegory set in modern-day Edinburgh by the author of the highly acclaimed Dr Jekyll & Mr Seek.

All that and A Play, A Pie & A Pint: Grant will preview Number One Fan by Kim Millar. Starring Joyce Faulkner, it centres around Jan McArthur who is raging!

Her husband left her for a silicone-enhanced woman 20 years her junior. She's lost her job. Her cat just died. And to cap it all, the menopause is on the rampage, leaving her a hot flashing mess. When Jan reads Jack Bonham’s women hating column, he becomes the embodiment of everything that is wrong in her life. Jan sets out for revenge!
