Young Asian and Scots focuses on three young people from Indian and Pakistani descent who call Scotland their home. How has their identity been shaped by the influences of their heritage?

We learn about the history of their Asian neighbours through the eyes of Sannah, Junaid and Sinita. For this new generation of young Asian Scots, these stories will be a revelation, as we find out about the struggles that the first immigrants faced when they stepped on to Scottish soil.

Sannah is a 26-year-old Muslim who proudly wears a headscarf and dresses modestly. She considers herself a Glaswegian and is staunchly Scottish, and she knows little about her Pakistani roots. Her job is to train and retain volunteers in the charity sector.

Junaid is 22 and from Cumbernauld. He is also one of the youngest elected officials in Scotland and the son of Pakistani immigrants. He is one of only 30 ethnic minority councillors in Scotland.

Sinita Potiwol is 29 and from Edinburgh. She manages Punjabi Junction, a social enterprise community caf茅 in Leith that was set up as part of the Sikh Sanjog charity. In order to get her marketing degree, Sinita felt she had to step away from the Sikh community.

The three begin the story together, discussing how they see their identity and how they differ. They are all entrepreneurial and ambitious - but why? Their discoveries will be interwoven and, when they are brought together at the end, will their opinions change? What has surprised them? And who exactly is an Asian Scot in 2019?
