When Lynn met Alan, she put a lifelong dream of moving to Australia on hold to become a loving wife and mother. In 2018, she put it back on the family agenda, but husband Alan wasn鈥檛 convinced. An ex-RAF man, he was done with travelling. A trial week in Melbourne saw them check out the sort of properties, work prospects and lifestyle they would all enjoy down under, but was it enough to convince Alan that Scotland was worth leaving for good?

Donnelly Family Update

In November 2019 the Donnelly family moved to Ballarat, Victoria. They even managed to secure a rental home before heading over which made the move so much easier!

Back in April Lynn interviewed for a teaching post and got the job! She is currently working for the 2019 winner of Best School in Australia. The boys start school in January and are loving being outdoors and spending time with Dad. Alan has designed a presentation to deliver to schools and colleges once term begins.

They are all adjusting to life without close friends and family nearby. This has been the most difficult part of this process. Moving is stressful; a time where you need your nearest and dearest nearby, so not having them close is tough.

To leave with a bang, Alan and Lynn organised a surprise wedding for before they left! It was a great chance to give their family and friends some special memories before they left. Little did we know Lynn's Mum had organised a surprise leaving party the week after!

We wish them congratulations on the wedding, and their new life down under!
