Have you lost work because of the pandemic?

Have you lost your job or had to make someone redundant through Covid? What's it like applying for jobs in the current market?

The UK unemployment rate has risen to its highest level for two years, official figures show. The unemployment rate grew to 4.1% in the three months to July, compared with 3.9% previously. Firms continue to remove staff from payrolls as they prepare for the end of the government's furlough scheme. There are calls for the Chancellor to extend the furlough scheme in a more targeted way or introduce a special package of measures for sectors particularly hard-hit, like hospitality.

Instead, Rishi Sunak is believed to be preparing to introduce a programme of retraining.
