PHONE-IN
There are now more than 600,000 people in Scotland on an NHS waiting list, that’s one in nine of the population.
Today the Ö÷²¥´óÐã is reporting that dozens of Scots are travelling to eastern Europe to have surgery on life limiting conditions because of the length of time it would have taken on the NHS.
One clinic in Lithuania told the Ö÷²¥´óÐã’s Disclosure programme it was operating on around ten patients a month from Scotland, usually to carry out hip and knee replacements.
It comes as a new opinion poll commissioned by the Ö÷²¥´óÐã suggests the numbers of Scots dipping into savings to go private is soaring. The survey of more than 2000 people also asked if  people believed that the NHS would still be completely free at the point of use in ten years’ time, and one in 3 said they thought it probably wouldn’t.
What’s your experience of the NHS?
