Live: mesmerising sounds from Hatis Noit and Maya Youssef

Hannah Peel with part two of highlights from Night Tracks live at Kings Place in London, featuring John Foxx, Maya Youssef, Ruisi Quartet, Shida Shahabi and Hatis Noit.

Hannah Peel presents the second of three programmes featuring highlights from a special Night Tracks live event at Kings Place in London, with performances from electronic music pioneer and composer John Foxx, Ruisi String Quartet, virtuoso qanun player Maya Youssef, pianist and composer Shida Shahabi, and experimental vocalist Hatis Noit.

Tonight John Foxx performs a solo piano set with tracks from his 'Arcades Project' and the Ruisi Quartet plays music by Joseph Haydn and Pauline Oliveros's '70 Chords for Terry' which she wrote in 2005 in celebration of composer Terry Riley鈥檚 seventieth birthday. There's live improvisation from Hatis Noit as well as stunning performances of her tracks Aura and Angelus Novus; Shida Shahabi is joined by cellist Tabea Schrenk and Anton Svanberg on electronics for live realisations of music from her latest album 'Living Circle'; and Maya Youssef offers music of dreaming, healing and peace.
