Iran's Bazaars

In the supermarket age many bazaars across the Middle East have declined, but in Iran we find a revival is breathing fresh life into these unique places.

Bazaars are the beating heart of cities across the Middle East. Traditionally they were the centres for trade and manufacture and places for diverse people to meet and mingle. We travel along the old silk route from Kerman in the south to Tabriz in the north, seeing how the country's beautiful and historic bazaars are being restored with the help of the local people.
