In Russia itself, the change has been accompanied by a shift away from what are perceived as Western liberal values, with increased control over the media and political opposition suppressed. But all this has happened at a time when, on the surface, the country looks more Western than ever. With Vladimir Putin on course to be re-elected for a fourth term this month, our Moscow correspondent Sarah Rainsford has travelled through southern Russia, the Urals and Siberia to explore how deep Russia's rejection of the West now runs...
