Emigration from Dunseverick to the Brave New World

Alister McReynolds tells Anne Morrison-Smyth about the big exodus of people to America from this part of the world in the 18th century鈥�

He describes how they would leave Dunseverick in a little rowing boat, to join the big ship heading into the Foyle estuary, to pick up the major embarkation group.

These County Antrim fishermen and farmers slipped quickly into a similar lifestyle once they arrived in States like Maine. (Broadcast: 5th Oct 2011)
