El Salvador and Tunisia

Will Grant meets El Salvador's lone forensic scientist and Susannah Knights samples the delights of Tunisia's booming arts scene.

El Salvador has one of the highest homicide rates in the world, but only 3% of murders result in successful convictions. Israel Ticas, has the unenviable - at times almost impossible task - of recovering the bodies from the crime scene and presenting the evidence to the state prosecutor鈥檚 office. Will Grant met the man known in El Salvador as 'The Engineer'.

Tunisia's revolution sparked the Arab Spring and since then the country has made significant steps towards establishing democracy, introducing a new constitution earlier this year. Along with greater political freedom has come greater artistic license - but not everybody in Tunisia is happy with the country's creative boom. Susannah Knights attended an arts festival in the town of Tozeur to meet some of its movers and shakers.
