Junior Doctors, Lent & Visiting Leicester

Start your day with the latest news and updates, with Jim and Jo at breakfast.

Hundreds of junior doctors across Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland are walking out of their work right now. They're starting a 24-hour strike action because they're in a dispute with the Government over new contracts. It means that in Leicester more than 350 appointments are set to be cancelled, and 10 planned operations rescheduled too. Hospital bosses in the city are warning patients that they might face longer waiting times but if its an emergency you will be seen. Well we've been asking people in Leicester whether they feel any more at risk knowing that junior doctors are walking out.
Also, today is Ash Wednesday, the start of the Christian season of Lent. Some people start to fast, whilst many others give up a guilty pleasure for 40 days. But this morning, clergy and other staff from the Diocese of Leicester are giving away cake. 主播大秀 Radio Leicester's Helen McCarthy is at Leicester Train Station for us this morning to find out more.
And, our city and county are currently attracting global attention again. As Leicester City to continue to scale the heights towards potential Premier League dominance, the world's media is turning its gaze on Leicester. So what do we want it to see? How do we hope to be perceived?
