Resolution's for Countesthorpe's Troubles, Mary De Castro Church & Leicestershire's Park And Ride

Start your day with the latest news and updates, with Jim and Jo at breakfast.

A public meeting was held last night to discuss the massive rise in complaints about anti-social behaviour in Countesthorpe. Since September there's been 130 cases reported to the police and local council. To put that into context, in the whole of the year before there were 110 incidents.

We're happy to be able to tell you that the doors to St Mary De Castro church in Leicester will remain open for visitors for the foreseeable future thanks to six new confirmed volunteers coming forward. It follows a recent open day designed to recruit new people who're prepared to give up a few hours a week to help show people around the Grade 1 listed church in the city centre.

Its come under a lot of criticism in the past but now more and more people in Leicestershire are using the park and ride bus services! In the last year there's been a 6.6% increase in the number of passenger journeys. But its not all good news because whilst those two sites are seeing more customers, the numbers at Meynell's Gorse has actually gone down (2.1%).
