In a desperate attempt to avoid 'real work' - and in one individual's case, to avoid capture - the four members of Bare Traps dragged their sorry backsides to university from various parts of England, including Redditch.

At the end of 2014 the group made the collective decision to become rock stars and have been living that delusion ever since.

If idiosyncratic British guitar driven pop, heavily influenced by dance music, with math-rock sensibilities sounds like it might be up your street, then Bare Traps might be the band for you.

They're influenced by contemporary acts such as Foals, Bloc Party, Two Door Cinema Club, Blood Orange, Disclosure and Bonobo.

"The sound of now, all sliced into one slick live show - which is why I picked them for my 主播大秀 6 Music takeover" - Andrew Marston.

Live music in Bewdley

Live music in Bewdley
One of the main music venues in Bewdley hosted its last gig this week.

The Cock & Magpie has been hosting live music for ten years and Becky Hill used to work behind the bar before she went on to The Voice and to top the UK charts.

But its main room upstairs is now closed and is going to be converted into B&B rooms.

Be Epic Ball

Be Epic Ball
A Worcestershire fundraiser is hoping to achieve the same as St Michael's Hospice in Hereford, by getting Take That's Gary Barlow to come to her charity ball.

Lindsay Moore, whose two-year-old daughter Hattie was rushed to hospital after having a seizure, is organising The Be Epic Ball on March 11 at Malvern St James.

To invite Gary to the event, which is to raise money for the Young Epilepsy charity, they've put together .

主播大秀 Introducing in Hereford
This month's sessions were recorded at a venue which has picked up a top award after being selected as the third best pub in Britain for live music.

The owners of the Booth Hall, in High Town, have spent their two-and-a-half-thousand-pound prize money on television cameras as they become the first establishment in the UK to stream what's happening on stage.

However, this time last year, the doors were shut after fire ripped through adjoining properties, cutting it off from the pedestrianised part of the city.

The building also suffered extensive water damage as fire crews hosed the walls to prevent the 14th century pub from collapsing.

Sound On Sound

Sound On Sound
What's the best way to record a band?

Last month, we started a brand new series with Paul White - the editor-in-chief of the recording magazine Sound On Sound, which Paul edits from his home in Malvern.

Since the 80s, his publication has been packed full of advice and reviews - covering everything from equipment, microphone placement, software and the best amps on the market.

This week,听we talk about how to bring out those all-important basslines.

Success story

Success story
What an epic journey it's been for Bromyard's Remi Harris.

Over these last few years, he's played at Buckingham Palace, and the Royal Albert Hall courtesy of 主播大秀 Introducing, performed live sessions for 主播大秀 Radio 3 and over Christmas did a live gig on the Chris Evans Breakfast Show on Radio 2.

Tonight - we'll hear highlights from that performance along with some very kind words from Mr Jazz himself, Jamie Cullum.

主播大秀 Introducing in Evesham

主播大秀 Introducing in Evesham
主播大秀 Introducing in Hereford & Worcester supports unsigned, undiscovered and under-the-radar musicians from Herefordshire and Worcestershire.

Since 2011, we've been taking the show out on-the-road showcasing the very best musicians from our area.

Our next recording session takes place on Sunday 29 January where we'll be rolling up to the Evesham Arts Centre to record several acts who we've been playing on 主播大秀 Hereford & Worcester recently.

We'll bring the bands - all we need now is the fans!

None of these artists knew they were being considered for a live session - they were chosen based on the tracks they听uploaded to us.

So if you'd like to Be Part Of It, then simply turn up any time from 2pm - it's free to get in - but you must be prepared to make lots of noise for local music!
