Black Lines are a young four-piece band, whose members are all studying at Hereford Sixth Form College.

After their first gig, they were offered a spot at Herefordshire's Down On The Farm festival.

They describe their sound as crunchy; bringing that old hard rock '70s-feel to the music.

The band is influenced by Black Sabbath, Cream, Led Zeppelin and Nirvana.

Sound On Sound

Sound On Sound
What's the best way to record a band?

Last month, we started a brand new series with Paul White - the editor-in-chief of the recording magazine Sound On Sound, which Paul edits from his home in Malvern.

Since the 80s, his publication has been packed full of advice and reviews - covering everything from equipment, microphone placement, software and the best amps on the market.

This week, we cover the various ways to record acoustic instruments.

Protecting your hearing

Protecting your hearing
Almost 170,000 people are predicted to have hearing loss in Herefordshire and Worcestershire by the end of the decade and a Worcester audiologist says loud music is to blame.

Tom Dixon works at the Worcester Hearing Centre says one in six of us will suffer with the condition and the charity Action on Hearing Loss say people are twice as likely to develop depression or dementia as a result.

With a number of 17-year-olds now being fitted with hearing aids, we've been seeing just how easy it is to damage your ears.

主播大秀 Introducing in Hereford

主播大秀 Introducing in Hereford
This month's sessions were recorded at a venue which has picked up a top award after being selected as the third best pub in Britain for live music.

The owners of the Booth Hall, in High Town, have spent their two-and-a-half-thousand-pound prize money on television cameras as they become the first establishment in the UK to stream what's happening on stage.

However, this time last year, the doors were shut after fire ripped through adjoining properties, cutting it off from the pedestrianised part of the city.

The building also suffered extensive water damage as fire crews hosed the walls to prevent the 14th century pub from collapsing.

Antiques Roadshow

Antiques Roadshow
A composer, from Malvern, has written the music to this Sunday's Antiques Roadshow Holocaust memorial programme.

Paul Farrer is an award winning writer whose theme tunes include the Weakest Link, Dancing On Ice, and Ant & Dec's Poker Face.

主播大秀 Introducing in Evesham

主播大秀 Introducing in Evesham
主播大秀 Introducing in Hereford & Worcester supports unsigned, undiscovered and under-the-radar musicians from Herefordshire and Worcestershire.

Since 2011, we've been taking the show out on-the-road showcasing the very best musicians from our area.

Our next recording session takes place on Sunday 29 January where we'll be rolling up to the Evesham Arts Centre to record several acts who we've been playing on 主播大秀 Hereford & Worcester recently.

We'll bring the bands - all we need now is the fans!

None of these artists knew they were being considered for a live session - they were chosen based on the tracks they听uploaded to us.

So if you'd like to Be Part Of It, then simply turn up any time from 2pm - it's free to get in - but you must be prepared to make lots of noise for local music!
