Government could lose data protection vote

The government could be facing defeat in the House of Lords later on Monday - with Labour, Liberal Democrat and crossbench peers teaming up to amend the Data Protection Bill.

Ministers say an amendment - to insert Article 8 of the EU's Charter of Fundamental Rights, which covers data protection - could make data protection laws too strong, and hinder work against money laundering and terrorist financing.

Daily Politics presenter Jo Coburn heard from Labour's Lord Stevenson, who put down the amendment, and Conservative MP Matt Warman.
