In session

Alex Lleo has one of those soulful, resonant, one-of-a-kind voices you'll want to listen to again and again, evoking beach fires at dusk and hazy summer evenings.
Ìý
With influences ranging from Neil Young, Ben Howard, Bon Iver, ELO and Bombay Bicycle Club, this Bromsgrove musician has toured America and has, on many occasions, played in ski resorts all over Europe.
Ìý
As well as performing at pubs, clubs and festivals, Alex regularly busks across the Midlands - with music being his full time career.
Ìý
“Beautifully mesmerising. A true talent and an incredible songwriter" - Andrew Marston.

Christmas Lights

Ö÷²¥´óÐã Hereford & Worcester has officially lit up Worcester, Bromyard, Malvern and Bromsgrove - with Bewdley being our final town, earlier today.
Ìý
As well as choosing all of the artists to appear at the Worcester event, we've heard some incredible musicians at the ceremonies across Herefordshire & Worcestershire.
Ìý
Tonight we'll hear some of today's celebrations - plus a catch-up with rising pop star Tazmin Barnes, who switched on Malvern's light last weekend.
Ìý

Ellie Goulding in the Live Lounge

Ellie Goulding has been in the live lounge, this week, teasing ahead to her new album.
Ìý
The Herefordshire musician started singing as part of her drama classes at Lady Hawkins High School, while living in Kington, later performing at Open Mic nights while attending Hereford Sixth Form College - at Doodies (which is no more) on St Owen's Street.
Ìý
She's now Herefordshire's most successful-ever export - having achieved more top 40 records than the Pretenders and Mott The Hoople put together.
Ìý

Christmas #1?

A special version of 'Do They Know It's Christmas?', recorded by a firefighter from Worcestershire, might make the Christmas number one spot this year.
Ìý
Richard Ryan, who's stationed in Kidderminster, recorded the single alongside a number of other firefighters from across the UK to raise money for the Firefighters Charity and the Band Aid Trust.

Musicians' Masterclass

It started as small gathering back in 1970; you could get in for £1, you'd get free milk and it brought together 1,500 people.
Ìý
Glastonbury has now expanded to be one of the most famous festivals in the world with 175,000 people there last year across hundreds of stages.
Ìý
1971 saw the first incarnation of the Pyramid Stage - a 1/10th replica of the Great Pyramid of Giza. Performers, that year, included David Bowie and Fairport Convention.
Ìý
Emily Eavis is the godmother of festivals and is responsible for booking acts like Jay-Z, Kanye West, The Rolling Stones, Stevie Wonder, Beyonce and many, many more.
Ìý
Glastonbury and Ö÷²¥´óÐã Introducing have worked together to create one of the most sought-after stages at the festivals for new artists.

Ö÷²¥´óÐã Music Introducing LIVE: Omyo

We catch up with the Herefordshire and Oxfordshire band OMYO at Tobacco Dock in London.
Ìý
Made up of William Edward, from Weobley, and Tom McCorkell, the pair wrote their first song together on New Year’s Eve 2015 and played their first gig at Wireless supporting Drake!
Ìý
Their tracks have since been played on radio stations across the world – including, of course, on this show, on Andrew's takeover show on Ö÷²¥´óÐã 6 Music and Ö÷²¥´óÐã Radio 1.
Ìý
William and Tom have also been to New York this year to film the video for their debut single.
Ìý
They’ve done all of this without a record deal and now regularly tour Europe.

Switching on Worcester's Christmas Lights

Our sessions, this month, come from the Worcester Christmas Lights switch-on ceremony.
Ìý
Not only was this a fantastic opportunity for the musicians we selected (who didn’t even know they were being considered for this incredible gig), but also a chance for thousands of people to see the amazing talent we have right here on our doorstep.
Ìý
As always, we also hope this will also inspire other musicians to share their music with us.
Ìý
The event, this year, moved from the Guildhall to the newly-revamped Cathedral Square under the statue of Sir Edward Elgar.
Ìý

Ö÷²¥´óÐã Music Introducing in Hereford

Our next recording session will take place on Sunday, 2 December at Gordon Bennett's in Hereford.
