New album

Pershore's Toyah is releasing her brand new album this week, In The Court Of The Crimson Queen.
Ìý
The actor and singer claims this is her 'finest work to date' having now been in the public spotlight for 42 years.
Ìý
Toyah will perform material from the new album live on tour throughout 2019 with more than 50 confirmed dates, including a Scottish tour in April, summer festivals including stops in Dublin, Bali and Belgium, and an autumn/winter tour of major UK cities.

World tour

This week, we're catching up with a Bewdley musician who's releasing a new album off the back of her world tour.
Ìý
Folk artist Deborah Rose has, during the last 6 months, performed to audiences in Australia, New Zealand, Africa and America.
Ìý
But one of her highlights was being in the presence of the Queen during a writers' retreat in Scotland.

New pub

Have you ever fancied having your own bar in your home? Well, one Worcestershire farmer has done just that after opening a pub in his cellar!
Ìý
Last year, Tom Spilsbury opened the White Pheasant on his farm in Stanford Bridge (between Stourport and Tenbury) and is hosting live music every time he opens the doors.

Features

Opera

This week, we're debunking the myths of opera with the Hereford charity who compare the genre to watching Game Of Thrones!
Ìý
The Music Pool, which unites local communities through music, is hosting an Insight Into Opera at Broxwood Court, between Leominster and Kington, this Wednesday at 7pm.
Ìý
"Dennis Schiavon takes you on a whistle-stop musical tour of 300 years all around Europe through the highs and lows of the exotic world of opera; its composers, singers, heroes, villains, lovers and legends - using video and audio of some of the world's best performers."
Ìý
The event is to raise money for the charity that, in a typical year, helps around 6,000 people through 1,300 workshops and events, making a huge impact on lives, skills and well-being. In particular the charity aims to help those least able to take part because of disability, financial hardship or social isolation - hence their motto: Music for Life - Music for All.

Elgar busses

The face of the world-famous composer Sir Edward Elgar is to adorn the side of several Worcestershire busses.
Ìý

Ìý
The vehicles have also been completely renovated to include air-conditioning and phone-charging points.
