Highlights: Big Love Festival

The Big Love Festival returned to Baskerville Hall at Clyro, near Hay-on-Wye, last weekend.

This independent, DIY festival is hosted by some of the best party promoters from Bristol and Cardiff, meaning the festival is "not to be missed".

Live coverage: HopFest

This will be the ninth annual event to take place in the riverside town of Bewdley, featuring tonnes of local bands. Their theme, this year, is 'ABBA in Wonderland'.

We will be there (tomorrow) hosting a stage dedicated to Herefordshire and Worcestershire artists chosen from the .

Each will record a live session for broadcast on the programme.

Ellie Goulding at Radio 1's Big Weekend

The Herefordshire musician started singing as part of her drama classes at Lady Hawkins High School, while living in Kington, later performing at Open Mic nights while attending Hereford Sixth Form College - at Doodies (which is no more) on St Owen's Street.

And she's Herefordshire's most successful-ever export - having achieved more top 40 records than the Pretenders and Mott The Hoople put together.

Throughout June, we're hearing tracks from her performance at Radio 1's Big Weekend in Middlesbrough.

Mello Festival highlights: Stereo MC's

Born out of the '80s hip hop and acid house scene, Stereo MC's reputation quickly grew throughout the decade.

Since then, they've supported groups such as De La Soul, EMF and U2 - and did US and UK tours with The Happy Mondays.

After early chart success in America for their second LP 'Supernatural', they recorded the album 'Connected' which became an international hit.

They were one of the acts performing at the Mello Festival in Hanley Castle recently, where we got their top tips for new musicians.

主播大秀 Music Introducing at Wychwood

More than 100 acts performed at the 15th anniversary of the Wychwood Festival on a redesigned part of Cheltenham Racecourse.

Since 2010, 主播大秀 Music Introducing in Hereford & Worcester has been showcasing the best local talent at this annual event, taking over from Tom Robinson on stage curation duties.

Originally, Gloucestershire and the seven counties that surrounded the festival would suggest artists to a number of high profile executives in the music industry who鈥檇 decide the final 28.

Over the years, we鈥檝e become the last ones standing 鈥 being able to choose our prime acts to take to centre stage at this prestigious event.

We鈥檒l be hearing highlights from our 主播大秀 Music Introducing stage takeover over these next couple of weeks.

  • In the Gig Guide: Details of Bromsgrove鈥檚 Sonic Rock Solstice, Hereford鈥檚 Gillow Festival and Leominster鈥檚 Echofest.

Session tracks: Arcadia Roots

By blending traditional African rhythms and instruments with infectious soul melodies, Arcadia Roots are creating a sound and atmosphere that defies genre.

Influenced by artists such as Fleetwood Mac, Dave Small, Maddy Abbots, Josh Terry, Danny Gauden and Tom Callinswood have recently attracted the attention of Michael Eavis, of Glastonbury fame, who joined them on stage and announced: 鈥淲hat a great band they are鈥.

Musicians' Masterclass

We look at the various ways of taking your music from your bedroom - onto the road.

Our panel, this week, consists of Emma Smith - one of the presenters of 主播大秀 Radio 3's Jazz Now. But, as well as that, she's also a singer, a composer and regularly works alongside the Ronnie Scott鈥檚 Allstars, Seal, Michael Buble and Goldie.

She's joined by performer Tom McCredie and pianist/composer Nikki Yeoh.
